The BaltGene Wiki synthesizes and presents results on Baltic Sea genetic biodiversity from the BONUS+ project BaltGene and the BONUS projects BAMBI and BIO-C3 as well as from other published scientific reports. The BaltGene Wiki is aimed for authorities, policy makers and fishing industry in the Baltic Sea region.
BaltGene Wiki contains genetic landscape maps that suggest management units of key species, descriptions of genetic biodiversity of these species, examples of the importance of genetic biodiversity in relation to ecosystem function, the importance of local adaptation of populations, and principals and suggestions of genetic monitoring plans. The BaltGene Wiki also comments on the effects of connectivity among marine protected areas (MPAs).
BaltGene Wiki is a first attempt to communicate new scientific results on genetic biodiversity in the Baltic Sea directly to stakeholders, and we aim to develop this page further along with the generation of new scientific results in future research programs.

BONUS BAMBI is a four year project, 2014 - 2017, funded by the European Community's Seventh Programme (FP/2007-2013) under implementation agreement no R&I/I3/2012/BONUS made with BONUS, the joint Baltic Sea research and development programme, and by the national funding agencies; the Swedish research agency Formas, the Estonian Research Council ETAg, the German Forschungszentrum Jülich Beteiligungsgesellschaft, and the Academy of Finland.
